Volcanic Eruptions and Witches on Broomsticks

This week Miss Lees was in full control of a lot of our class learning.
She helped us to conduct a volcanic eruption science experiment. It was great fun helping and watching our volcano bubble and fizz as the materials reacted together!

Our focus book was Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. We wrote character descriptions and drew inspiration from the story for discovery. We made potions, hats, wands and broomsticks!

Dino Day

We LOVE dinosaurs and the end of Term One seemed like the perfect time to celebrate and enjoy a special day all about dinosaurs.

It was great fun designing our own dinosaurs, check out some of our creations below:

                                      By Joshua                                         By Cooper
                                    By Astyn                                             By Dorian

Our challenge for the day was working out how to help our mini dinosaurs hatch from their eggs. Some of us liked the ideas of using pure strength and force to break them out, while others thought waiting patiently lead to further excitement.

The highlight of our day was the mini habitat outside. There was mud everywhere!

Playing with mud and getting dirty can be a daunting experience for some and it was great to see children breaking through that barrier and have fun!
